January Promotion: Winter White Sale - It’s a BOGO!
For our first promotional offer in 2024, we’d love to help you get your hygge on. What is hygge? It is a Danish and Norwegian concept in which the emphasis is placed on creating a warm atmosphere for yourself and those around you. With words like coziness most often associated with hygge, it’s easy to see how it can so easily apply to bedding.
BOGO Bedding Sale
And that’s where we step in! For the month of January, we’re offering a “white sale,” that allows you to enjoy a BOGO opportunity. Bring in two or more comforters, blankets, bedspreads, quilts, or throws and pay full price for the first item only*…everything else is 10% off!
Got a few comforters you’d like cleaned and fluffed for the coldest part of the year? Bring em in or give us a call for our FREE home pickup and delivery. Have a lovely bedspread and a fuzzy throw you’d like spruced up for your hygge-iest bedroom yet? We’ve got you covered…and it’s at a discount!
Enjoy Hygge All Winter and Beyond…
What else can you do to enjoy some hygge this winter? We consulted the experts in all things hygge - the Dutch themselves! VisitDenmark.com says that winter is the high season for hygge (though you can and should enjoy it every day). At the site, we learn “Danish winters are known to be long and dark, and so the Danes fight the darkness with their best weapon: hygge.” It is in the winter that “you have an idea of what Danes can do with lighting, mulled wine (known as gløgg for the locals), blankets and oversize scarves. If you haven’t maybe it’s time you try.”
Hygge Means Texture
Another source says that a big part of hygge is “texture,” and that “soft, fur blankets and luscious rugs. Knits and plush items are musts for an inevitably warm, welcoming atmosphere.” That same source goes on to add that “the act of enjoying the simple things in life is supremely hygge. Take a moment to truly enjoy your morning coffee. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath. Venture outdoors for a long walk with nature. Creating a hygge lifestyle encompasses a variety of areas beyond home design, just as your home's design can completely improve the way you live.”
Hygge Means Taking Time to Savor the Little Things
Hygge is also about slowing down and taking time. Being present can be as simple as mindfully making up your freshly laundered bed and savoring the soft, warm textures against your skin. “Hygge is all about taking a step or two back and feeling the positive effects of indulging in the basics…it's about creating a space in which visitors don't want to leave because they are enjoying the company, the food, and the overall atmosphere.” Remember that you don’t need to have visitors to enjoy hygge - you can be the person who doesn’t want to leave their space because of the coziness and warmth created.
Hygge Means Enjoying the Atmosphere You’ve Created
If you’re ready to begin making your home as hygge as possible. Let us help by starting with that bedding. We can greatly improve texture, help eliminate odors and stains, and brighten and freshen up almost any sort of bedding. With 10% off, you’ll get that warm hygge feeling at all of the savings, too!
Now, as to pronouncing hygge…the best we can offer is the pronunciation provided by our delivery driver Phil - a proud Scandinavian. He let us know that it is “hoo-gah.” I’ve been saying “hig-gee” for over a year now. Guess I can enjoy a bit of a warm glow from my red face and then jump into our warm comforter, light a candle or ten, open that journal or book that’s gathered dust for too long, and get my New Year started off the best way possible. Happy New Year and here’s to loads of hygge in the coming months!
*Discounts apply to the lowest-priced items. Items included in this promotion: Comforters, Down Comforters, Laundered Bedspreads, Blankets, Camp Blankets, Sleeping Bags, Dry Cleaned Bedspreads, Feather Beds, Throws, and Bed Pad/Mattress Covers (lightweight only).
