Learn Why National Banana Day is an Important Event at Oak Hill Dry Cleaners

Today we celebrate TWO special days:

·         National Get to Know Your Customers Day, AND

·         National Banana Day

While you might easily understand why we would feel that the first on that list is important, we have equally strong feelings about the second in the list. At least, Travis does.

Here’s the thing: Travis has a life-long and passionate hatred towards bananas.

It’s not that he hates the fruits themselves, but anything with their flavor, scent, or texture is immediately at the top of his “NO!” list. It’s nothing personal, Bananas. It’s not you…it’s him.

Anyway, now that you know something you may not have ever otherwise known about your favorite dry cleaner, we hope you will share something about yourselves with us. After all, it IS National Get to Know Your Customers Day.

What is National Get to Know Your Customers Day

When businesses get to know customers, it goes beyond knowing their names and their “usual” orders or purchases. It’s about making the services and products better. That is the reason behind National Get to Know Your Customers Day.

We are, sort of, celebrating it all year long. For instance, you might have noticed that we no longer welcome customers by asking for a phone number. Instead, we always ask for your name if we don’t already know it. Why? Well, we want to know YOU when we see you outside of the cleaners. I never want to see you at the grocery store or a restaurant and say, “Oh, Hi there 207-883…”

Both Travis and I want to call you by name and know about you. If we’ve learned anything from the pandemic, it is that returning to “normal” is going to be a challenge. We can help everyone walking through the door to feel at ease by calling them by name, asking about their work, families, and even making little inside jokes. We are interested in everyone as individual people. It matters. You matter.

What Matters to YOU?

So, in honor of today and its emphasis on learning more about you and your needs, why not email us (office@oakhilldrycleaners.com) and give us the scoop. For example:

What services do we not yet offer that you feel might be useful?

Do you have garments or items you just cannot get clean or are nervous to launder?

Do you find our FREE home delivery useful with our new lobby hours?

How often do you think you need dry or wet cleaning services?

Will you use our new drop-box? It is being wrapped and installed soon!!!

Do you think dry cleaning is not a service you need? Why? (Boy, we hope you let us answer that one!)

Is there something that you feel we can improve?

What questions do you have about our services or business?

And, most importantly: How do you feel about bananas!

We want to hear from you today and every day, so please get in touch – even if it is to argue in defense of Travis’s least favorite fruit.
