DO Worry About It…
If you read our blogs, you already know we’ve been on a bit of a soapbox over fast fashion for a few years. It is a disaster happening in real-time and one that impacts the environment, human beings, and the economy. To say it is an important issue in our fight for a better future is a bit of an understatement, and this SNL skit (above) captures how massive a problem fast fashion has become. It is cheap, trendy, and available quickly and can be hard to resist. Not just brands like Shein fall under the fast fashion heading. Familiar favorites like H&M, Old Navy, Zara, and Uniqlo are also guilty of using this so-called business model.
You may not know you are buying fast fashion or recognize its perils, so we’re always here to help.
Do You Know Thomas L. Jennings?
Before Black History Month ends, we need to take a moment to recognize a remarkable American inventor – Thomas L. Jennings. Ugh! Everyone is Sick…How to Keep Beds Sanitary and Cozy
Ugh! Everyone is Sick…How to Keep Beds Sanitary and Cozy
According to Keren Landman, MD, it seems like everyone is sick right now. At least, we all have a few people in our lives who are battling “mild colds to more serious bugs.” And she’s right, the CDC recently released figures demonstrating that we’ve been “above baseline” in terms of reported respiratory illness for more than eight weeks.
This year we have RSV, flu, Covid-19 and a host of other suspects to deal with. Apparently, all of them are increasing a bit ahead of schedule and “a broader age group is turning up very sick, too.”
This means you may find yourself looking after someone, or even a few someones, stuck at home and combatting a seasonal illness. But, when someone is stuck at home on bed rest, it means that bedding could easily become a hiding spot for germs.
Stop Letting Errands Run You – January is “Get a Balanced Life Month”
Work-life balance…how often do you hear people offering up that little nugget as a “simple” solution to all problems?

You know, those promises (or threats) you make to yourself, spend energy planning, and then feel horrible about dropping, failing, or quitting within the first weeks or months of the year?
If you find yourself stuck in the perennial cycle of entering January as a clean slate for starting a diet and exercise plan, finally getting finances in order, organizing your home, and all the rest…Stop it.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Stop. It. NOW.
